The bail reform laws authored by Senator Todd Kaminsky have helped cause the chaos we see in our communities. Over the last three years, the Senate Democrats have consistently put the needs of criminals ahead of victims. Leading members of the Democrat conference, including Senator Mike Gianaris have stated they have no interest in addressing bail reform while continuing to push pro-criminal policies like Clean Slate and Elder Parole.
For years, my colleagues and I have been sounding the alarm about the impact Albany’s pro-criminal agenda is having on our communities. The tragic events in New York City this weekend must be a breaking point. Our conference stands ready to take real action on bail reform and public safety.
